2021 review and 2022 vision
January 11, 20222021 was again an unusual year and demanded unusual actions from us. We have summarised all the highlights of the year in a review.
At the beginning of the year, the global Corona pandemic is still very present. The pandemic required all of us to act according to different standards and to implement contact restrictions, distance rules and new hygiene standards. Companies have to introduce new processes to keep their daily business running. Many employees must go to home office.
For some companies, the pandemic has meant an economic setback. The freighter "Ever Given" blocked the Suez Canal for several days from 23 March. Hundreds of other ships cannot cross the waterway.
Despite everything, many logistics and shipping companies are forecast to close 2021 with a profit. The logistics industry has emerged as crisis resistant.
The CCIS network has some positive achievements for the year despite the Corona setbacks. Among other things, CCIS now counts 79 operating facilities in 25 countries. A brand harmonisation contributed to the fact that the depots belonging to the network all bear the same brand name. All this was underlined by the launch of a new website that highlights our global synergies and service portfolio.
Process optimisation systems were also introduced: Thus, 2021 was the starting point for the introduction of an uniform accounting software as well as an uniform CRM system.
In 2021, our overall container movements increased and CCIS as a company seems to be becoming an increasingly popular provider. This was noticeable in the strong increase in demand for container depot services as well as container purchases.
For 2022, we have big plans as well. For example, we will continue to strengthen our global synergies by further expanding our service portfolio.
2022 will also see an increased focus on sustainable solutions. For example, employees can share their innovative ideas with the team. Useful approaches can then be introduced in the respective depots and also shared with other CCIS locations. The Management has already planned some green projects, too. To name just one example: At some locations, it is planned to install a water recycling system for the container washing areas.
We will continue to strive to find innovative and more sustainable solutions, in line with the values of our parent company: BETTER WAYS - a new era, a new image.
