CCIS India Effluent Treatment Plant
April 16, 2024The CCIS depot in Tuticorin Golden Horn Container Service has inaugurated CCIS India's first Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
The newly installed Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) utilises a bioreactor with biological processes for wastewater treatment.
In the bioreactor, microorganisms break down the organic pollutants in the wastewater through biochemical reactions and convert them into harmless by-products such as water and carbon dioxide.
This process helps to purify the wastewater before it is discharged from the container cleaning process, thus contributing to environmental sustainability and compliance with regulatory norms.
CCIS India expects to save 6,000 litres of water per day in Tuticorin alone.
This system is also to be installed at other locations in 2024.
