CLEAN UP THE HARBOUR

September 13, 2023

On 31st August, CMA CGM Inland Services (CCIS) Germany gathered to take part in the CLEAN UP THE HARBOUR event.

Making a contribution to the environment, however small – that’s the motto of CCIS’ CLEAN UP THE HARBOUR initiative. With this mission, we’ve set ourselves the goal of not just talking, but simply doing. The aim of the action was to collect as much waste as possible to contribute to the environment. There are many reasons to do so:

  1. It’s good for the environment: Rubbish that accumulates in the city or in nature is not good for the environment. Plastic is a real blight here, as it doesn’t rot. It can even be dangerous if old electrical appliances are simply left somewhere.
  2. Bolster the sense of community: We’ll spend time together as a team doing something meaningful, rewarded with a delicious barbecue under the sun. What’s more, waste collection campaigns set a process in motion that can lead to more sustainable consumption. We want to set an example and make the Port of Hamburg cleaner.
  3. Be role model: Inspire others to do good.

Afterwards, there was a delicious barbecue for all. Further CLEAN UP THE HARBOUR actions are planned together with the local neighbours to create a common awareness for this issue.

We are proud of everyone who participated in this event!

Good for the environment

Rubbish that is collected and disposed of properly protects the environment.
